Raising funds for Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre
The Moor Park 10k & Fun Run has been conquered by those brave runners who battled the strong winds and heavy rain on Sunday 29 September 2019. As sponsors of this fantastic event some of our team attended the run to encourage those participants to the finish line.
The Moor Park 10k & Fun run is a fantastic event which has been running since 2002 and to date has raised more than £650,000 which has gone towards the provision of services at the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood.
This year’s run took place at Merchant Taylors’ School and started with the under 15s running a very impressive 3.9km and culminated at 3pm with the 10k run. The Micasa team were on hand to cheer on the runners across all ages throughout the races during the day and were delighted to be involved in such a fantastic day which was full of families despite the extremely wet weather. As well as the runs there were other activities and attractions which included a fun fair, bouncy castle, face-painting and games for all to enjoy.
As sponsors of the event, we had encouraged our clients to participate to help raise money for this noble cause. The Micasa team would like to send a huge thank you to our clients who ran and helped raise money and a very special thank you to our clients Divya Nagaraj and Bhaskar Rao. Every penny that was raised throughout the day and event will go directly towards the provision of services at the centre.
Though the run may be over for another year, there is still an opportunity to donate to the centre and help them provide support to patients and families. The incredible team at the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre offer a full range of support and information services to cancer patients. Their support extends to the families of those patients and helps all cope with every aspect of the disease from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. If you would like to donate or volunteer with the centre kindly visit www.justgiving.com/ljmc or contact them at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre on 02038262555.Back
